sunrise shoot, one year anniversary / alexis + cody

If you’re not celebrating your one year anniversary by popping champagne in your wedding attire, you’re missing out! I’ve had the pleasure of shooting with Alexis and Cody a handful of times over the years, but this shoot was BY FAR my fav. This photoshoot was everything you don’t get on your wedding day; time to get creative with poses, a relaxed pace without a tight wedding day timeline, perfect lighting! It was seriously a dream! Alexis looked gorgeous (again) in her gown, this time with her hair down in relaxed waves rather than the formal updo she had worn a year prior.

Most couples say that the first year of marriage is the hardest, but for Cody and Alexis their honeymoon stage was immediately followed by a global pandemic. I loved that we took the time to celebrate that not only did they tackle their first year of marriage but that they did so while both working on the frontlines during the COVID-19 crisis, Alexis as a nurse and Cody as a firefighter. Talk about a power couple!
