Hi, I’m Kaylee, a photographer based in West Michigan. I’m passionate about capturing moments in a way that brings them back to life. I grew up pulling out photo albums with my siblings and flipping through the pages compiled by my Mom; we have hundreds of prints documenting our upbringing tucked safely into plastic sleeves. I remember the first time my parents sent me to summer camp with a disposable camera. The ability to document my own experiences captivated me even as a fourth grader.

Now I am rarely seen without my cameras in tow. I have a big immediate family, giving me ample opportunities to document the real emotions experienced in family life at Christmas, graduations, birthdays, baptisms, etc.

I love building relationships with other people, learning what’s important to them, what makes them unique, and what they value. Getting to participate in your life moments through photography is a gift I cherish. My goal is to capture these events authentically and, in the end, provide you with a collection of images that carry you back to how you felt in the moment.

When I’m not behind the camera I can be found spending time with my family and the community of friends I have in Grand Rapids. Lake Michigan is one of my favorite places and I regularly visit the lakeshore regardless of the weather. Outside of photography, things that make me happy include interior design, hosting dinner parties, iced chai lattes with espresso, the National Parks, and sunrises. The most important thing to me is my relationship with Jesus Christ. My faith inspires me to capture the dignity of the human person. I feel that through photography I can respond to the call of Pope John Paul II in his letter to artists, “you are invited to use your creative intuition to enter into the heart of the mystery of the Incarnate God and at the same time into the mystery of man.”
