lakeshore maternity session / cody + alexis

It seems like we have been dreaming of this session for years, so even though I’m staring right at these images it still doesn’t quite feel real. I’ve had the joy of capturing so many different memories and milestones over the years for Alexis and Cody and seeing their family grow makes my heart so happy. These two are way more like friends than clients! When we were discussing potential locations Alexis mentioned wanting to shoot at Lake Michigan because that’s where they got engaged. I fell in love with the idea of going back to the same location to document/celebrate milestones like that. It adds another layer of nostalgia to these photos for their family.

One of my favorite images was actually taken in the tunnel leading out to the beach. That light pouring in behind them and the slight lean against the wall made this shot feel so intimate.

I know this baby boy is already so loved and I can’t wait to see these two become parents! Congrats again, Alexis and Cody.
