at home newborn session / amelia

The day before this newborn session, I spent the afternoon visiting with my family, soaking up all the love and snuggles from both my 6 month and 18 month old second cousins. So when Lauren handed me sweet Amelia, I was honestly surprised at how little she was! It feels like just yesterday that I took these photos for my cousin, but time is a thief and it’s astonishing how quickly these newborns become babies and babies become toddlers. All the more reason to schedule photo sessions like this one to document all the sweet details at this stage.

Since we shot in Lauren and Nate’s home, I was able to grab some shots of their beautiful nursery during the session! I loved the floral details in this space. These candid black and white images are some of my favorite, an unposed moment while Mom soothed baby.

It was so exciting to capture some of the first pictures of this family of three! These shots of Nate and Lauren taking turns holding their new baby girl are so sweet.

As soon as we stopped passing her between Mom and Dad, she fell fast asleep and we were able to take many photos of peaceful Amelia asleep in the middle of the living room.
